Wedding Day

This exploding box was commissioned by Lindsay, for her daughter's wedding. Joanna and David were married on 4th July 2008.
This box was a tricky one. The explosion needed to be a representation of the wedding bouquet which was made from two-tone Vandella roses (ivory and peach). I made these paper roses using a five petal flower punch using two ivory and one peach punch out for each rose. I layered them by wrapping the punch-outs tightly round a cocktail stick, gluing as I went along.

  6. Hi, Elaine!

I'm writing on behalf of my wife; she's the one with aptitude with these things! :)

Could you explain a bit *how* you wrap the punch-outs tightly around a cocktail stick? My wife is trying to recreate your (beautiful!) flowers, above, and doesn't quite know what to do, when. (Any chance we could talk you into posting a video on YouTube? We can dream, anyway... :) )

Thank you, and we love your work!
